U.S. congressman’s son accused of assaulting officer in downtown Nashville

SUMMARY: Michael Patton Guest, the son of U.S. Congressman Michael Guest, was in Nashville for assaulting an officer. The incident occurred when a plastic cup full of ice was dropped from a rooftop bar and struck the officer. Surveillance footage showed Guest intentionally throwing the drink. He was found with alcohol in his possession and admitted to the act. Guest is facing misdemeanor charges for assault, disorderly conduct, and underage alcohol consumption. Congressman Guest represents Mississippi's 3rd congressional district.
