Tupelo Police Department introduces new crime-fighting tool
SUMMARY: The Tupelo Police Department in Mississippi has implemented a new crime-fighting tool called FUSUS. FUSUS is a cloud-based platform that allows the police to access various sources of data, such as security cameras and license plate readers, in real-time from a virtual command center. Residents and business owners can register their security cameras with the police department, but the police do not have direct access to the camera feeds. The goal is to create a safer community and improve investigations by having access to video evidence. The service is free and available only to Tupelo residents and businesses.
