SUMMARY: The Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana has received a $10,000 Louisiana Culture Care Fund Grant for its continuing efforts to serve its citizens, preserve its culture, and engage with Avoyelles Parish residents. The grant, provided by the State of Louisiana and administered by the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities (LEH), will help support the tribe's Language and Cultural Revitalization Program (LCRP), museum, and research center. The LCRP aims to prepare future generations of tribal citizens to lead successful, fulfilling lives while maintaining a deep understanding of their culture.

SUMMARY: Ten Army and three Air Force cadets from the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) ROTC were commissioned as Second Lieutenants. The Army ceremony at Camp Shelby featured Major General Janson D. Boyles, while the Air Force ceremony on campus featured Brigadier General Mary-Kathryn Haddad. LTC Juan J. Ortiz praised the Army cadets for their leadership, and Lt. Col. Sheena Puleali'i commended the Air Force cadets for their commitment. Distinguished Military Graduate 2LT Jeremiah J. Parker expressed pride in his training and future goals. Commissioned cadets include 2LT Miruna Avram, 2LT Braxton Bailey, 2LT Jada Fairley, among others.
