PEARL RIVER VALLEY ELECTRIC POWER HAD OVER 7,000 OUTAGES, WHILE DIXIE ELECTRIC POWER SAW JUST OVER 400. SOME CUSTOMERS ARE EXPERIENCING AFTERMATH ISSUES, INCLUDING FALLEN TREES AND POWERLINES. DIXIE ELECTRIC SERVES SEVEN COUNTIES, AND COMMUNICATION MANAGER AMANDA MILLS SAID MORE ISSUES MIGHT ARISE IN THE COMING DAYS. RESTORATION EFFORTS HAVE MOSTLY WRAPPED UP, WITH ANOTHER UPDATE TO COME.

The number of power outages continues to drop across the Pine Belt.

In Clinton, the Choctaws of Mississippi College are in control of their regional after a 6-3 win over Tampa. McCall Lee and Ashley Light Cap helped put the Choctaws ahead early in the game. The Choctaws made clutch plays on defense to secure the win, with Camryn Bailey forcing a game-ending ground out. The team's ability to support each other and finish the game strong was praised by their coach. They advance to the regional final with confidence and pride.

The Mississippi College softball team is one win away from the NCAA Division II Super Regionals. The Choctaws held off Tampa for a 6-3 on Friday afternoon

The incident occurred early this morning on Rebel Woods Drive, where an 18-year-old man was shot in the upper body and taken to the hospital for treatment. Lubala, who has a history of previous charges, escaped while being transported for questioning. He is described as six foot one, wearing red pants and flip flops, and not wearing a shirt.
