THS band travels to nation’s capital for 4th of July parade

SUMMARY: The Tupelo High School Marching Band will be participating in the Independence Day Parade in Washington DC on July 4. The band has been preparing for this opportunity since receiving the invitation last year. They will be performing songs that pay tribute to Elvis Presley, who was born in Tupelo. The band members are excited to showcase their musical talent and also have the chance to visit historical sites in the nation's capital. They hope that this experience will lead to more opportunities, such as marching in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The band will be leaving on July 2 and returning next Thursday.
