Teen sentenced for fatal DUI crash in Rankin County
SUMMARY: 19-year-old Colby James Tackett has been sentenced to 15 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections for aggravated DUI resulting in the death of 62-year-old Beverly Luckett in a head-on collision on Highway 471 in Rankin County. Tackett was intoxicated at the time of the crash, and it was revealed that he had been arrested for underage drinking just two weeks before the fatal incident. District Attorney Bramlett expressed remorse for the tragic loss of Luckett and emphasized that Tackett will have to live with the consequences of his actions.
