Taylorsville teen’s bond set at $1 Million in pregnant teen murder case

SUMMARY: An 18-year-old named Tavaris Atwood is facing a second-degree murder charge after allegedly shooting and killing a pregnant teenager. The victim, 16-year-old Alisha McLemore, was 29 weeks pregnant at the time of her death. In court testimony, Atwood admitted to shooting McLemore after being questioned by investigators. At his initial appearance, he was ordered to have no contact with McLemore's family. Police responded to a report of the incident on Monday evening.

18-year-old Tavaris Atwood of Taylorsville had his bond set at $1 million during his initial appearance in Laurel Municipal Court Wednesday morning.
