Sumrall to lower millage rate
SUMMARY: The content discusses changes from an ordinance that was passed, which will go into effect in 30 days. The millage rate will go from thirty-six mills to around thirty-one-point-seven mills, allowing the town to give its employees a proper pay raise for the second year in a row. Mayor Joel Lofton says this will still end the year with a surplus and that they have completed the projects they set out to do. The focus is on taking care of the town and its people.
Residents in the Town of Sumrall can expect a tax break in the near future.
