Singer Sinead O’Connor dead at 56, Irish media reports
SUMMARY: Singer Sinead O'Connor has passed away at the age of 56, according to the Irish Times. O'Connor gained international fame with her hit song “Nothing Compares 2 U” in 1990 and released ten studio albums throughout her career. She was known for her outspokenness on political issues and made headlines in 1992 when she ripped up a photo of the pope on live television. Her cause of death has not been announced. O'Connor is survived by her three children, one of whom tragically died last year at the age of 17.
