Several park upgrade projects nearing completion in Biloxi
The City of Biloxi is focusing on projects that will rebuild and beautify parks around the city.
The city began upgrading five parks just a couple of weeks ago. These upgrades include new playground equipment for Savarro Park, Pennzoil-McManus Park, Eagle Point Park, and Businessman’s Park.
Savarro Park is also adding a new dog park to the area. New workout equipment will be added to John Joseph O’Reilly Park as well.

William Carey names vice president for student engagement
SUMMARY: William Carey University has enhanced campus life by promoting Dr. Wesley Dykes to vice president for student engagement, expanding his recruitment role to enrich the “Carey Experience” for current students. Since joining WCU in 2012, Dykes grew the Winters School of Music from 108 to over 300 students, launching new degrees and 18 musical ensembles. WCU President Dr. Ben Burnett praised Dykes for fostering a supportive, high-energy culture. The promotion aligns with broader campus improvements, including new facilities like the King Student Center, Student Success Center, renovated dining hall, outdoor stage, and ongoing dorm and student plaza projects, aimed at better student engagement and campus life.

HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding Honors 2025 Class of Master Shipbuilders

Vancleave’s Kelsey Mason to represent Team USA at the Scotland Junior Golf Invitational
SUMMARY: Kelsey Mason, a Vancleave High alum and Shelton State signee, is set to represent Team USA in the Scotland Junior Golf Invitational, a prestigious six-day tour through Scotland’s iconic golf courses, including St. Andrews and North Berwick. Excited by the challenge of playing in new conditions, Mason is one of only 21 U.S. golfers selected. She credits her NIL deal with Generator Supercenter for helping fund her tournament trip and college expenses. Before heading to Scotland, she’s playing at Whispering Pines in Moss Point. Mason looks forward to showcasing her talent and embracing the international golfing experience.
