Roundabout approved in Lamar Co.
SUMMARY: Lamar County Board of Supervisors is in the final stages of a plan to install a roundabout at the intersection of Weathersby and Oak Grove Road. The temporary traffic lights installed in June have helped decrease accidents, but the roundabout is expected to further improve traffic safety. County Administrator Jody Waits believes the roundabout will help traffic move more safely through the intersection, which has been prone to accidents in the past. The current three-way stop is considered awkward and has resulted in a lot of accidents. The roundabout aims to alleviate these issues.
Lamar County residents will soon have a new way to travel along Weathersby Road.
