Richland minister sentenced to life for sexually assaulting autistic child
SUMMARY: Samuel Lamar, a 52-year-old music teacher and minister in Mississippi, has been sentenced to life without parole for sexually assaulting multiple children, including an 11-year-old autistic child under his guardianship. The abuse occurred at his home in Richland from 2020 to 2022. The case emerged when the child disclosed the abuse to a counselor, leading to an investigation that revealed at least one other victim from 1990-91. In addition to the life sentence for sexual battery, Taylor received 15 years for gratification of lust, to be served consecutively without parole or early release.

SUMMARY: Ole Miss linebacker Tyler Banks has been named the 2025 Chucky Mullins Courage Award winner and will wear the No. 38 jersey in honor of Mullins. Banks, a senior from Virginia and three-year letterwinner, is the 35th recipient of the award, which honors Mullins, who was paralyzed during a 1989 game and passed away in 1991. Head coach Lane Kiffin praised Banks for his perseverance, leadership, and dedication on and off the field. Banks has played in all 39 games since 2022, mainly on special teams, and serves on the SEC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. The award recognizes courage and determination.
