Residents raise concerns of proposed RV park in Gulf Park Estates
SUMMARY: Residents in Gulf Park Estates, Jackson County, Mississippi, are furious over the proposal for a new RV resort to be built in their neighborhood. The resort would include 476 RV sites, 16 tree houses or cabins on stilts, two bayou houses, and 20 resort-owned Airstreams. The resort is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy, with around one-third of tourism employees in Mississippi living on the coast. The proposal will go to the County Planning Commission on October 18th, and residents like Frank Funari are concerned about the potential increase in traffic and crowds. They question why developers chose this location and believe it would negatively affect the neighborhood.
