SUMMARY: The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity recently held its second annual Prostate Cancer Awareness Day in Tupelo, Mississippi. This event aimed to educate the community, especially black men who are at a higher risk of developing prostate cancer, on the importance of early detection. The day included a walk, brunch, roundtable discussion, live podcast, and more. Medical professionals were also present to discuss the seriousness of prostate cancer and share testimonials from survivors. The fraternity members encouraged men to get regular prostate exams and check their PSA levels, as elevated levels can be a sign of prostate cancer.
