Powerball jackpot grows to $675M
SUMMARY: No one won the jackpot in the recent Powerball draw, meaning the pot has grown to $675 million, the tenth largest in history. The next draw is imminent, and the cash payout will be an estimated $340.9 million. On the previous Saturday, a ticket bought in Saucier won $100,000. The jackpot hasn't been won since 19 April, when it was worth $252.6 million.

USM Army and Air Force ROTC programs host Commissioning Ceremonies
SUMMARY: Ten Army and three Air Force cadets from the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) ROTC were commissioned as Second Lieutenants. The Army ceremony at Camp Shelby featured Major General Janson D. Boyles, while the Air Force ceremony on campus featured Brigadier General Mary-Kathryn Haddad. LTC Juan J. Ortiz praised the Army cadets for their leadership, and Lt. Col. Sheena Puleali'i commended the Air Force cadets for their commitment. Distinguished Military Graduate 2LT Jeremiah J. Parker expressed pride in his training and future goals. Commissioned cadets include 2LT Miruna Avram, 2LT Braxton Bailey, 2LT Jada Fairley, among others.
