Baptist plans to invest over $86 million in hospital facilities, technology, and physician recruitment, offering current OCH employees jobs under the new ownership. The deal, expected to finalize next month, follows extensive negotiations involving community leaders and institutions like Mississippi State University. The sale ends county control since 1973, addressing concerns about patient outflow and revenue loss. Baptist owns 12 Mississippi hospitals, including highly recognized facilities.
