Pipe breaks and ‘misinformation’ lead to low water pressure in Jackson
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, officials announced significant pipe breaks in the Jackson water system, primarily affecting residents in southwest Jackson. As temperatures rose, pipe breaks and leaks from private plumbing increased the city's water demand to 70 million gallons per day, 40% higher than usual. Repair crews are working to address the breaks, but the extent of the damage and water loss is still unknown. Despite no issues at the water plants, it may take a day or two to fully restore service. Residents are advised to check the list of affected areas on the WJTV website for updates.
