Pair of projects to cut down traffic in Gulfport presented to supervisors

SUMMARY: The City of Gulfport is initiating two projects aimed to ease traffic congestion and improve parking in busy areas. The plans, which involve a commerce corridor and a harbor expansion, were presented to the Harrison County Board of Supervisors. The project will be funded by the Gulf Coast Restore Fund. The corridor, connecting areas around Canal Road to Highway 49, is expected to improve traffic flow. Furthermore, an expansion at the harbor, adding more parking near Highway 90 and the beach front, is planned which is worth $1.2m.

Czech zoo welcomes 4 rare Barbary lion cubs whose population is extinct in the wild

Once native to North Africa’s Atlas Mountains, Barbary lions were wiped out by hunting and habitat loss, with the last wild sighting in 1925. With fewer than 200 in captivity, plans for reintroduction are being discussed with Moroccan authorities, aiming for sustainable release despite significant challenges.
