One dead following a gunfire exchange with Rankin County deputies

SUMMARY: A shooting incident involving Rankin County deputies resulted in the death of an individual in Florence, Mississippi. The incident occurred on Walker Drive around 4:30 PM. The officers exchanged gunfire with an unidentified individual, who was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. The officers were unharmed in the incident. The deputies were responding to a call about someone threatening a family member, as per the Department of Public Safety. MBI is currently investigating the incident. Witnesses at the scene were visibly emotional.

The event was packed with new grads and their loved ones at the Davis Event Center. Some graduates shared their feelings of accomplishment and gratitude towards their teachers and peers. State House speaker Jason White also congratulated the graduates. Overall, it was a day of celebration and pride for all the college graduates.

Students from the Itawamba Community College graduated on Friday.

SUMMARY: Over 200 third graders from New Albany Elementary and East Union Attendance Center in Union County went on a downtown tour to visit local businesses and learn about different occupations. The tour allowed the students to connect classroom learning to real-world experiences and explore the diverse career opportunities available in their community.
