Noxubee County teen gains some horsepower in racing world
SUMMARY: 17-year-old Zyler Maxwell from Noxubee County, Mississippi, has found success in the world of harness racing. At the Neshoba County Fair, Maxwell won 11 out of 21 races of the sport, also known as buggy racing, where a horse pulls a two-wheeled cart with a rider. He has gained 18 lifetime wins and attributes his success to the trust he has in his horse and watching other drivers. Maxwell's dedication to the sport includes daily jogs to build up his endurance. However, the sport comes with a price as he must cover the expenses for equipment, travel, and horse maintenance. Maxwell's father supports his passion and enjoys watching his son pursue his dreams.
