Northpark inviting people to celebrate 40th anniversary

SUMMARY: The second annual Starkville Derby, the largest wiener dog race in the world, took place with 200 dogs racing through the streets of the cotton District. The event featured cheers, vendors, and various races for different breeds. Maggie May from Woodstock, Georgia, was the grand champion. All proceeds went to the OCPA Humane Society, raising approximately $50,000, triple the amount from the previous year. Organizer Thornhill expressed gratitude for the support from the community and highlighted the success of the event in benefiting local businesses, vendors, and the Humane Society.
In Starkville on Saturday, 200 dogs raced in the streets of the Cotton District.

Another stellar outing by Billy Oldham helps lift Southern Miss past Coastal Carolina
SUMMARY: Southern Miss has 10 games left on their schedule, with a strong desire to make it back to the NCAA regionals. They recently faced off against Coastal Carolina, with Nick Monastier hitting a solo shot to tie the game. Aussie Pratt and Dalton McIntyre also contributed to the team's win. Pitcher Billy Olden stood out with a career-high 11 strikeouts in the game. The team has been working on communication and teamwork, with older players taking on leadership roles. Former Southern Miss athlete Duran Dun, now known as The Freeze at Braves games, returned to campus to throw out the first pitch.
