Narcan now available in USM dorms

SUMMARY: Colleges across the US are being proactive in making Narcan available on their campuses in response to the ongoing investigation. This includes Southern Miss, which now has Narcan available in its dorms. Kyra Lampley is speaking with USM leaders on why this is a need in college communities. Through a recent grant, Narcan is now available for use across USM's Hattiesburg campus. The drug reverses the often fatal effects of opioid overdoses. This initiative is aimed at not only getting these overdose emergency kits installed, but also teaching the symptoms and what to do in case of an overdose.

Each emergency kit comes with two doses of Narcan, a CPR mask and instructions.

Habitat for Humanity builds homes for two Jackson families

SUMMARY: Two local families are preparing to become homeowners in Jackson, thanks to Habitat for Humanity Mississippi Capital Area and partners like Faith Build 2024. Tiffany Griffin, one of the future homeowners, expressed her gratitude and excitement for having a yard for her son. Two men, dog injured in Natchez shooting
