Monroe County School District offers new Teacher Academy program

SUMMARY: The Monroe County School District in Mississippi is partnering with William Carey to offer a Teacher Academy program for high school juniors and seniors interested in becoming teachers. who complete the program will full tuition and a scholarship for books, as well as three hours of college credit. The program aims to combat teacher shortages in the area and give students exposure to the teaching profession. The program will teach students about classroom observations, teaching strategies, and how to respond to different situations. Interested students should meet with their school counselor to change their schedule.
