Mississippi teen hit, killed by patrol car

SUMMARY: Attorney Ben Crump will represent the of 17-year-old Kadarius Smith, who was allegedly hit by a Leland patrol car and later died. The incident occurred in the early morning hours of March 21 while Smith was walking home with friends. Witnesses said the patrol car began chasing Smith, running him over, leaving tire marks on his back. Smith's mother and Crump are demanding accountability for the officer involved, calling the circumstances surrounding Kadarius' heartbreaking and inhumane. They are requesting the officer be terminated and the unedited footage of the incident be released to the family for answers.

DA requests change in indictment for Oktibbeha Co. murder case

SUMMARY: Christopher Perkins was charged with murder and four counts of aggravated assault after a nine-year-old child was shot in a vehicle in Mississippi. Barron Hubbard, Tabyron Fisher, and Dellveon Lindsey were also and charged with six counts of aggravated assault and one count of murder. The District Attorney requested that all cases be considered at the same time for judicial efficiency and fairness. The judge and defense lawyers will decide whether to sever the charges or defendants. The DA's office believes all cases together would be the best approach.
