Michael Oher, former NFL tackle known for ‘The Blind Side,’ sues to end Tuohys’ conservatorship
SUMMARY: Former NFL tackle Michael Oher, known for inspiring the movie “The Blind Side,” has filed a petition accusing Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy, the family portrayed in the film, of lying to him and enriching themselves at his expense. Oher is asking for his conservatorship to be terminated, a full accounting of the money made from his name and story, and compensation for damages. The Tuohys claim the conservatorship was done to satisfy the NCAA. Oher also alleges that he was encouraged to call the attorney who filed the paperwork “Aunt Debbie” and was misled about signing adoption paperwork.
