Meridian Fire Department urges you to check your smoke detectors
SUMMARY: The Meridian Fire Department is reminding people to check their smoke detectors and change the batteries as daylight saving time approaches. Chief Michael Evans says having a working smoke alarm could be the difference between life and death, as smoke makes it harder for people to wake up during a fire. The department emphasizes the importance of ensuring smoke detectors are functional to prevent tragic incidents. They urge everyone to take the necessary steps to maintain their smoke alarms and keep their households safe. The department will also come to assist if needed.
