Longtime Lowndes County lawman retires

SUMMARY: Columbus Police Captain Rick Jones is retiring after 40 years in law enforcement, with about 30 of those years spent with the Columbus Police Department. Jones expressed his compassion for the community and his desire to see the city do well, stating that he has tried to make it a better place to live. His retirement was celebrated by friends and fellow officers.
