Locals react to building collapse in Grenada
SUMMARY: In Grenada, cleanup may take weeks after a historic building collapsed downtown last night, leaving rubble and debris. The nearly 100-year-old structure, which had just been renovated and repainted, succumbed to wind pressure during a storm. Earlier roof damage from Hurricane Katrina further weakened the building, leading to the collapse. Fortunately, no one was hurt as it happened at night, but the event was still a shock to the community. Robert Willis, the building owner and city engineer, had commenced renovations.
