LIVE: Shooting reported at Iowa high school
SUMMARY: Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to reports of a shooting at Perry High School in Iowa on Thursday morning. The first reports came in around 7:40 a.m. Police and Iowa State Troopers blocked off the surrounding streets, and ambulances were observed entering and leaving the area. Some students had tearful reunions with parents. The high school is part of the Perry Community School District, with approximately 1,785 students. It was the students' first day back in school following the holiday break. Messages left with school officials were not immediately returned. Perry is located about 40 miles northwest of Des Moines.
