Law enforcement, local community pay tribute to fallen Deputy Malone
SUMMARY: Deputy Jeremy Malone was killed last night in the line of duty during a traffic stop in George County at the age of 44. He is survived by his wife and three daughters. Malone had worked with the George County Sheriff’s Office in several full-time and part-time roles since 2009. He was also a former Perry County sheriff’s deputy. Authorities are not releasing many details more, and are investigating the incident. Malone’s death marks the fifth law enforcement officer in the country shot and killed in one week. Colleagues and friends remember Malone as dedicated to law enforcement and a devoted team member. Authorities continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses in connection to the shooting.
Friday, a massive procession lead the body of Deputy Jeremy Malone to the crime lab in Biloxi before escorting his body back to George County.

9/11 – Warmer Than Average Afternoons and Dry Conditions Continue

Introducing our WXXV Student Athlete of the Week, St. Patrick’s Parker Talley!
SUMMARY: WXXV’s Student Athlete of the Week is Parker Talley from St. Patrick. A senior swimmer, Parker began swimming in seventh grade and has excelled in multiple events, especially the 500-yard freestyle, where he set a personal best of 5:45.61 at last season’s state championship. He helped St. Patrick win the 2024 South State Championship and earned top finishes in relay races. Academically gifted with a 4.1 GPA and a 35 ACT, Parker was accepted to Mississippi State’s Shackles Honors College for mechanical engineering. He leads as swim team captain and is active in honor societies, archery, and robotics, cherishing his teammates like family.
