Kentucky AG asks supreme court to uphold life sentence for man convicted of killing father, daughter
SUMMARY: Kentucky’s Attorney General is urging the state Supreme Court to maintain the life without parole sentence for Kevin Lawless, who was convicted for the 2020 murders of three-year-old Trinity Randolph and her father, Brandon Waddles. Lawless’s lawyers argue that the trial court made errors by denying requests to postpone the trial and to exclude the death penalty. They also contend that jurors should not have been informed about Evan Ross’s arrest, as he drove Lawless to the crime scene and was also convicted for his involvement in the murders.
