07/28 Ryan’s “Scorching Start” Monday Morning Forecast
SUMMARY: South Mississippi faces a scorching Monday with temperatures rising from the low 80s to upper 90s, and heat index values near 115 along the coast, triggering heat warnings. No tropical development is expected today, and the region remains mostly clear with only a few scattered clouds. Despite intense heat and humidity, overnight temperatures stay warm near 79–80°F with some increasing cloud cover. Showers are unlikely today but will become more frequent starting Tuesday afternoon through Thursday as a front brings increased moisture and rain chances. The wetter weather should cool temperatures slightly by next weekend.

07/23 James' “Weather Kid” Wednesday Forecast
SUMMARY: Welcome back, South Mississippi! It’s Weather Kid Wednesday at WXXV, where local kids help with the forecast. Today’s guest is James, an 11-year-old birthday boy who recently celebrated at Escape Arcade. We’re seeing cloud cover and showers mixed with heat. The high today is 97°F, but with humidity, it feels like 115°F due to the heat index—meaning it feels hotter because sweat doesn’t evaporate well. Tomorrow, temperatures will cool slightly to around 103°F with more rain expected, thanks to a low-pressure system. James advises staying in air conditioning, seeking shade, or visiting a water park to beat the heat.
