JPS parents concerned about middle school consolidation

SUMMARY: The Public School District (JPS) in Mississippi held a meeting with families of Peeples and Whitten Middle School , as the two schools are set to merge a testing irregularities investigation. Nine staff members were fired as a result of the investigation, and the two schools will temporarily consolidate next . The consolidation is due in part to a staffing shortage and ongoing renovations at Whitten. While the students will be in the same building, they will remain separated for core classes and activities. The consolidation is expected to be temporary until the end of the school year.
