Jackson Zoo Adventures: Python
SUMMARY: Our zoo animal of the week is a non-venomous python named Simon, bred in captivity and never seen the wild. Ball pythons like Simon eat birds and small mammals. They are constrictors and will roll up into a ball when scared. Snakes are beneficial for the environment and most snake bites are not lethal. Snakes play a vital role in eliminating rodents. It is rare for a snake to be aggressive towards humans, and most snake bites are not lethal if treated promptly. Simon is a docile and sweet creature, suitable for handling. Watching and appreciating snakes in the wild is essential for learning about these creatures.
