High School Hoop Recap 2/9/24
SUMMARY: High school basketball playoffs are in full action, with Meridian High School hosting Northeast ranking. Lady Wildcats fought back but Lady Cougars ultimately won 45-36. Newton County lost to Choctaw Central 59-42, with Choctaw Central becoming the 4A Region 4 District Champs. Final scores from around the area include Lake defeating Scott Central 49-42, Kemper County defeating Southeast Lauderdale 47-32, and Enterprise defeating Knox County 53-47. In boys games, Meridian beat Brandon 51-56 to become District Champions, while Choctaw Central won against West Lauderdale 78-70. The playoffs are next week, and it's expected to be a busy week for everyone involved. Eve will have a full scoreboard running tomorrow.

Grenada man accused of exposing himself twice in Tupelo
SUMMARY: A man, Octavius Brown, accused of indecent exposure at a park in Tupelo has now been charged with the same crime at a public library. Police claim he approached a woman in her car at Veteran Park and exposed himself, also attempting to enter her car. He is also accused of exposing himself to someone inside the Lee County Library. Brown is in custody without bond. Witnesses recount their encounters with Brown at the park.
