Hazlehurst neighbors see damage from Monday’s storm
SUMMARY: Overnight storms in Hazlehurst caused extensive damage with uprooted trees, downed power lines, and structural damage to homes. Residents saw trees crash through their roofs and experienced water damage and broken windows. One historic home, dating back to 1857, was also affected. Governor Tate Reeves addressed the severe weather, noting that there were no reported injuries. Despite the material damage, many in the community are thankful to be alive.
