Gulf Coast Community Ministries celebrates 20 years on the Coast

SUMMARY: Coast Community Ministries (GCCM) is celebrating its 20th anniversary of serving the Gulf Coast. As a faith-based, non-profit organization, GCCM offers medical care, food, and clothing to the needy. It feeds around 500 families each month, and provides food and clothing to homeless individuals. GCCM also operates a food pantry, clothing program and free medical clinic for uninsured adults. It accepts donations of non-perishable foods and adult clothing items, and is supported by churches, businesses, and other .

USM Army and Air Force ROTC programs host Commissioning Ceremonies

SUMMARY: Ten Army and three Force cadets from the of Southern Mississippi (USM) ROTC were commissioned as Second Lieutenants. The Army ceremony at Camp Shelby Major General Janson D. Boyles, while the Air Force ceremony on campus featured Brigadier General Mary-Kathryn Haddad. LTC Juan J. Ortiz praised the Army cadets for their leadership, and Lt. Col. Sheena Puleali'i commended the Air Force cadets for their commitment. Distinguished Military Graduate 2LT Jeremiah J. Parker expressed pride in his and future goals. Commissioned cadets include 2LT Miruna Avram, 2LT Braxton Bailey, 2LT Jada Fairley, among others.
