Governor Reeves declares state of emergency due to incoming cold snap

SUMMARY: Ben Crump, attorney for the family of Demartravion “Trey” Reed, announced that Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights Camp Autopsy Initiative will fund an independent autopsy after Reed, 21, was found dead by hanging on Delta State University’s campus. Though a state autopsy ruled Reed’s death a suicide and no foul play was suspected, the family received conflicting information and sought a second autopsy. SUMMARY: Mississippi’s only major-league affiliated team, the Biloxi Shuckers, was eliminated from the 2025 Southern League playoffs after a 4-2 loss to the Montgomery Biscuits in game two of the Division Series.
