George County’s Explosive Hitting In 11th Decides Epic Pitching Battle At Pascagoula
SUMMARY: In an unexpected turn of events at Richie Tillman Field in Pascagoula, the George County Rebels defeated the Panthers 5-0 in a Region 4-6A baseball game that extended to 11 innings. The entirety of George County's scoring occurred in the 11th inning, featuring a two-run single by Garrett Dixon, a two-run homer from Jacob Eubanks, and an RBI single by Ben Davis. Stellar pitching performances by Griffin Wells of Pascagoula and George County's duo, Carson Pierce and Canyon Reeves, kept the game scoreless through ten innings. Despite his efforts, Wells, a future Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Bulldog, was ultimately replaced after pitching eight innings due to approaching the pitch count limit. George County, having secured their playoff spot, remains in contention for the region title, while Pascagoula's playoff hopes hinge on upcoming games.
