Fulton voters to decide fate of tourism tax in upcoming special election

At least 4 people shot on campus of Morgan State University in Baltimore, authorities say
SUMMARY: Four people were injured in a shooting at Morgan State University in Baltimore. The Baltimore Police Department initially described it as an “active shooter situation” and urged students to take shelter on campus. The campus was on lockdown for hours while police conducted their investigation. According to city council member Ryan Dorsey, it is believed that there were three shooters firing into the crowd. No arrests have been made. The shooting happened during a week of activities leading up to the school's homecoming game. The university was founded in 1867 and is historically Black.

MSU basketball’s Maroon Madness to be held at Columbus Air Force Base
SUMMARY: Mississippi State men's and women's basketball teams will hold their annual ‘Maroon Madness' event on October 6 at the Columbus Air Force Base. The event is closed to the public and will only be available to service men and women on-base. The event will include a skills competition, three-point shooting contest, and the opportunity for the local military to hear from the head coaches. Both coaches express excitement for the event and the chance to thank the military for their sacrifice. Season tickets for men and women's basketball are also currently on sale.

Aberdeen receives grant to renovate historical building
SUMMARY: The city of Aberdeen in Mississippi has received a grant of over $100,000 from the Mississippi Department of Archives and History to renovate one of its historical train depots.
