Flooding leads to issues in Jasper, Smith counties
SUMMARY: This morning, floodwaters in Jasper County led to emergency responders having to rescue a family from their flooded home using a boat. The call came in at 10:00 a.m. with the water reaching about 2 feet deep inside the house. The person rescued was asleep when they woke up to find their house flooded but fortunately, they were unharmed. County Road 1539 near County Road 13 in Luen is closed due to flooding. In Smith County, four people were also rescued from flooded homes. Emergency responders are warning drivers to be cautious due to several flooded roads in the county.
