SUMMARY: On day two of the MLB draft, several players from the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) were drafted. Ace pitcher Tanner Hall was picked in the fourth round by the Minnesota Twins, continuing the streak of USM players being taken in the first four rounds since 2017. Central part pitcher Justin Storm was chosen by the Marlins in the seventh round, and Dustin Dickerson was picked by the Kansas City Royals in the eighth round. Matthew Etzel, USM's leadoff man, was selected by the Orioles in the 10th round. Additionally, players from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) and Mississippi State University (MSU) were also drafted. Calvin Harris from Ole Miss was chosen by the Chicago White Sox in the fourth round, while MSU pitcher Kate Smith was the lone Bulldog taken on day two, selected by the New York Yankees in the sixth round.

SUMMARY: Graduation season is here, a special day for students celebrating their hard work and achievement. WTV Jake White reported live from the ICC campus in Tupelo, where the energy was incredible. Graduates expressed happiness at finally walking across the stage after years of hard work. The event was packed with new grads and their loved ones at the Davis Event Center. Some graduates shared their feelings of accomplishment and gratitude towards their teachers and peers. State House speaker Jason White also congratulated the graduates. Overall, it was a day of celebration and pride for all the college graduates.

Students from the Itawamba Community College graduated on Friday.
