Four candidates running in House District 72 primary
SUMMARY: The House District 72 Democratic primary in Mississippi has four candidates running for the vacant seat. Each candidate plans to focus on community-oriented initiatives and economic development. Justis Gibbs, an attorney, wants to leverage his relationships with the Hinds County Development Authority to bring more economic success. Synarus Green, with 30 years of government experience, wants to prepare the workforce for future job opportunities. Rukia Lumumba, an activist, aims to engage the community in the economic development process. The fourth candidate, Dr. Ailean Stingley, was not available for an interview. The primary election will take place on August 8, 2023.
