Foggy weather leads to car pileup in Mississippi
SUMMARY: Foggy conditions in Mississippi led to dangerous road conditions and a major car pile-up on Highway 84. A total of 20 vehicles, including 18-wheelers and passenger vehicles, were involved in nine separate wrecks due to the dense fog and lack of driver attentiveness. Multiple agencies responded to the scene to provide safety and rescue, with 10 patients being transported by M serve and three by the Covington County Hospital. The highway was reopened after roughly 4 hours, but work to clear the scene continued. Thankfully, no fatalities were reported, but the accident serves as a reminder of the dangers of driving in dense fog.
