Fin Lit Kids Is Restoring Generational Wealth

SUMMARY: Financial literacy is important for children to learn at a young age as research shows that kids start to understand the value of money at around three years old. Developing good financial habits and attitudes by age seven is essential for making responsible decisions as adults. Instead of just giving children an allowance, it’s important to teach them how to earn money and involve them in budgeting from a young age. Financial literacy needs to be taught in schools from a young age, and parents can involve children in budgeting to manage their expectations and teach responsible spending.

“Fin Lit Kids Box” is working to make financial literacy both accessible and enjoyable for children ages 3-7. We sat down with the creator Ebony Beckford, to talk about bringing this program into schools across the country and your homes!
