Domestic violence incident lands woman in Lowndes Co. Jail, man wanted

SUMMARY: A woman in Lowndes County, Mississippi has been and charged with Aggravated Domestic Violence after allegedly using her car as a weapon during a domestic violence incident. Witnesses claim that Selvin Richard punched Corrye Jordan in the face and left the scene. In response, Jordan tried to grab a bat but Richardson’s father took it away from her. Jordan then got into her car and attempted to over Richardson and his twice. Richardson is currently being sought by investigators, as warrants have been issued for his arrest on a domestic violence charge.

Mississippi receives nearly $10 million in lottery earnings

SUMMARY: The Mississippi Lottery Corporation has transferred approximately $9.6 million to the ‘s coffers in August, contributing to nearly $18.5 million in total earnings from lottery proceeds for the first two months of the fiscal year. State dictates that the initial $80 million goes to the Projects, while any extra funds are allocated to the education enhancement fund. This transfer marks the second of twelve for the fiscal year.
