Deputy injured, suspect killed in Meridian shooting
SUMMARY: An officer-involved shooting occurred in Meridian, during which a Lauderdale County deputy was shot and sustained non-fatal injuries. In retaliation, the deputy fatally shot the suspect. The incident began when the deputy tried to stop a suspected drunk driver. The male passenger shot at the deputy when asked to leave the vehicle, prompting the deputy to return fire. The driver was detained without further problems. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is examining the event and will report their conclusions to the Attorney General's Office.

Report: Chris Jans signs extension as Mississippi State basketball coach

Officials break ground at $10B Amazon Web Services project in Madison County
