Columbus Fire & Rescue looks to improve some aging fire stations
SUMMARY: Columbus Fire and Rescue is seeking approval from the city council to make improvements to aging fire stations three and five, located on Lehmberg Road and 31st Avenue. The chief, Duane Hughes, presented a plan for new flooring at the city council's work session, with a cost of $15,700. Hughes proposed using fire insurance rebate money from the state to fund the repairs, rather than using the city's budget. The council will discuss the issue at its Tuesday night meeting, and updates can be found on Facebook and Twitter.
