Clinton students return to class on Monday
SUMMARY: Today was the “last first day of school” for some seniors at Clinton High School, marking the start of their final year in the district. This new school year brings a chance for students to make it a great one and start fresh. Some seniors are excited to see their peers, as they have been together since ninth grade and will graduate together. The modified school schedule includes more breaks, aiming to prevent burnout for both teachers and students. Graduation is set for May 17, giving students a long way to go.

United Way of East Mississippi will host its annual Stuff the Bus campaign
SUMMARY: In about a month, the United Way of East Mississippi will host its annual Stuff the Bus campaign on July 11th in Lauderdale County. The event aims to provide local school children with necessary supplies for the upcoming school year. Last year, over 1,500 students were not registered for school two weeks after it started due to a lack of supplies. This year's goal is to reduce that number significantly and make it the best event yet. The campaign will take place at Walmart locations at Bonita and off Highway 19, as well as Raising Cane's on North Hill Street. Visit wt.com for more information.
The campaign will help local schoolchildren receive the school supplies they need to be successful next school year.

Builders for Christ begins project for Pine Grove Baptist Church in Little Rock
SUMMARY: For two weeks, Builders for Christ have been in Little Rock, Mississippi, selecting Pine Grove Baptist Church as their 2024 project. Each June, the organization chooses a U.S. church needing construction help. Volunteers from Oklahoma, Louisiana, North Carolina, and Mississippi are aiding the project. Pine Grove's pastor and congregation are excited for this growth opportunity. They demolished their old sanctuary in January and are now constructing a new 70×110-foot building, which will seat 192 on the floor and 130 in the balcony. The community credits God for this expansion, anticipated to be completed within the year.

SUMMARY: Rain is moving out after steady downpours since yesterday. Eastern regions received about half an inch, while Western regions saw up to two inches. Meridian picked up a little over an inch yesterday and nearly half an inch today. Currently, light rain persists in spots like Chocktaw County. Conditions are humid with potential dense fog overnight. Wednesday may bring more showers and storms due to upper-level disturbances and an approaching storm complex. A cold front arriving Thursday will clear the rain and reduce humidity, leading to pleasant weather for Friday and the weekend. Showers may return by Sunday, but overall, the weekend looks dry and warm.
Expect a repeat performance for Wednesday For more Local News from WTOK: https://www.wtok.com/ For more YouTube …
