Cleanup after straight-line winds blow through Pontotoc

SUMMARY: Excavation crews were working to clean up storm damage outside of Ponito after strong winds caused trees to fall and damage homes and fences. A resident’s horse escaped after a tree fell and destroyed a fence. The Tanglefoot Trail from New Albany to Houston was also affected by the storm, with trees down and uprooted. An EF1 tornado hit New Albany, making parts of the trail impassible. The city of New Albany is working to clear debris and repair damage, with progress being made in just 24 hours. Despite the destruction, the city remains in good spirits and committed to restoring normalcy.
